Meet Dr. Glen E. Jones

Dr. Jones was fortunate to discover a profession he was passionate about at an early age. He was first introduced to the field of oral and maxillofacial surgery after needing jaw surgery in high school. He was born and raised in rural Alabama. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Alabama and received his doctorate from University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1995. He then moved from Alabama to New York City where he completed both a General Practice Residency and an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College (formerly know as New York Hospital/Cornell Medical Center) in June 2000.

Dr. Jones enjoys all aspects of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery with a strong emphasis on implant restoration surgery. He attributes his successful practice to approaching every patient, whether it be a simple extraction or a complex facial fracture,

with the same compassionate zeal.

He is an active member of several professional organizations including the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (AAOMS), Florida Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons (FSOMS), Florida Society of Dental Anesthesiology (FSDA), ADA, FDA, and WCDDA. Dr. Jones enjoys spending time with his fantastic daughters Anna and Sophia. He enjoys boating and considers himself an avid snow skier, even though both of his daughters can easily beat him down a black diamond slope.

Meet Dr. Christopher P. Maly

Dr. Christopher Maly was born and raised in a small farm town outside Ann Arbor, Michigan. He grew up exploring the outdoors and working at his parents’ canoe and kayak livery. The Boy Scouts served as a foundation for leadership and service during his youth. By high school he was an Eagle Scout and was also named captain of the varsity football and track teams. He was interested in the sciences from a young age and was ultimately inspired to pursue a career in dentistry by his uncle who still practices in Michigan today.

He graduated from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business with honors in 2006 while also fulfilling his pre-dental curriculum requirements. It was there that he met his future wife Lisa, a CPA. Paralleling his draw to the health care industry was a calling to serve, leading him to accept a scholarship with the United States Navy to attend dental school at the University of Michigan. Before starting dental school, he attended Officer Indoctrination School at the Naval Officer Training Command in Newport, Rhode Island. During dental school he gained a strong interest in implant dentistry and was awarded the American Academy of Implant Dentistry Award for excellence in surgical and restorative implant dentistry. He was also awarded the Comprehensive Care Award for clinical excellence and graduated in 2010 before setting off on his Navy career.

During his first year of military service he was irreversibly drawn to the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery after a four month rotation with the surgeon at Naval Hospital Beaufort in South Carolina. He gained acceptance to Oral and Maxillofacial residency at The Walter Reed National Military Medical Center Bethesda (The President’s Hospital) and began training in 2012. There, he had significant experience with acute trauma, post-traumatic reconstruction, orthognathic surgery and cosmetic facial surgery. His greatest memory of military service was having the opportunity to meet and provide care for some of the nation’s most incredible heroes. Throughout residency he completed numerous rotations in anesthesia, medicine, dermatology, general surgery, trauma surgery, plastic surgery, and more. In his last year of residency, Dr. Maly was voted Top Chief Resident Educator by his co-residents and was also ranked top of his class by the staff.

His next military assignment was to Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina where Dr. Maly served as Head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Division. Over a four year tour, he personally provided care for thousands of United States Marines and Sailors while also overseeing clinical operations for a team of twenty personnel. As a mentor and educator, he personally helped train more than 50 Navy dentists in complex exodontia during their oral surgery rotations at Parris Island. Dr. Maly also participated in community outreach with the local Rotary Club Mobile Dental Unit and provided regular service for four regional dental and oral surgery practices.

Dr. Maly’s ten year Navy career came to a close as he and his wife decided to set down permanent roots in their favorite place, Saint Petersburg, Florida. After being married in Largo in 2009, they have visited frequently and each time they visit they never want to leave. Outside of work, Dr. Maly enjoys exploring new parks and beaches, boating, fishing, crabbing, sports and cooking dinner for his family.

Dr. Maly is board certified by the American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery and licensed in four states including Florida. He is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and maintains certifications in Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support. He has lectured at various review courses and study clubs and is also a published author in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
